Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Sales, the Welding Specialist will play a key role in executing on Messers’ go to market strategy to our customers and prospects. This go to market strategy of providing savings on the overall cost of a welding process rather than just savings on goods purchased. Act in a support role to the Sales Representative(s) in terms of providing technical know-how, sales support on large capital items, troubleshooting, training of high-tech welding equipment and processes. Develop with Sales Team cost benefit analysis (Current State/Future State) for large existing or potential customers.
Job Description:
- Work with the Sales Representative, using our Messer Pro Sales Process, to find areas of opportunity in both prospective customers and existing accounts.
- Once areas of opportunity are identified, the Welding Specialist, will work the Customers QA/QC, Engineering and End Users to identify solutions that can be proven in our Welding Lab and ultimately in the customer facility in their production line.
- Troubleshooting and problem analysis of welding equipment and processes.
- Provide product knowledge, training, and demonstration of products to branch personnel and customers.
- Provide technical guidance to sales staff in selection and quotation of capital equipment.
- Support and deliver on all Sales Strategies and Campaigns
- Work in a Safe manner at all times.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Journeyperson Welder Certificate or
- Welding Engineering Technologist (WET) or
- Mechanical Engineer with Welding Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a Welding Production Facility
- Welding Inspection experience is an asset.
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with PowerPoint, and excellent presentation skills with a working knowledge of Excel
- Understanding of AWS and CBW Structural and Piping Codes
- Understanding of all Welding applications – SAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW
