Homecare Support.
The Support Worker plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those living with disabilities, dementia, or requiring support in home care settings. This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with daily living activities and promote their independence.
- Assist with medication administration as required and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that enhance their physical and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and progress.
- Document client care activities accurately and timely in accordance with organizational policies.
- Assist clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during challenging times.
Skills
- Strong caregiving skills with experience in home care or assisted living environments.
- Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities and experience in dementia care.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and nursing home settings is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting clients.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and understanding of senior care needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and families.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
