Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing fireworks materials for further processing by the establishment in Canada. Assess requirements of an establishment and develop specifications for materials and supplies to be purchased. Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations. Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards. Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems. May hire, train, or supervise purchasing clerks.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing of fireworks materials for further processing by the establishment in Canada.
- Purchase equipment for fireworks show to meet customer's requirements.
- Assess requirements of an establishment and develop specifications for materials and supplies to be purchased
- Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations
- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
- Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems. Pay attention on freight cost changing.
- Know about importing regulations for customs clearances.
- Guide the manufacture to follow TDS to produce the product.
- Utilize ERP systems to track inventory levels and manage orders.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods by coordinating with vendors and monitoring order statuses.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Research potential suppliers and assess their capabilities to meet company needs.
Requirements
- 5 years or more relevant working experience of fireworks.
- Familiar with fireworks suppliers and manufactories.
- Knowledgeable in importing fireworks regulation in Canada
- Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong understanding of vendor management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of fireworks manufacturing resources and production processes is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $42.00 per hour
