About the Position:
We are seeking a motivated Electrician Intern to join our data center team. This role will provide hands-on experience in data center infrastructure components including but not limited to Mechanical Systems; Chillers, CRAC, CRAH, pumps, condensers and Electrical Systems; UPS, Generators, ATS, batteries and DC plants. The intern will work closely with data center team, gaining valuable insights.
What you do daily:
- Install AC and DC circuits from PDU to Customer Cabinets
- Oversee all aspects of the Mechanical and Electrical operations within the Data Centers, to include:
- UPS Systems (Emerson/Vertiv and Mitsubishi)
- 480 V Systems
- DC Power Plants
- Work with Electricians and track cooling capacity, temperatures and efficiency throughout the Data Centers
- Oversee and track electrical capacity, UPS loads, customer consumption and breaker availability
- Understand and Review detailed site specification documentation of As-Builts, Single-Lines and pre-sales spec sheets
- Work with Electricians on physical environment installs including capacity expansions, system upgrades, and new CRAC, In-Row cooling, UPS, distribution panels, etc.
- Troubleshooting process and repairs in case of events or equipment failure. Work with Electricians on recommendations to prevent reoccurrence of such events.
- Understand how cooling and electrical distribution for optimal PUE
- Work with Electricians to schedule, manage and document vendor provided preventive maintenances per the manufacturer's specifications of all equipment
- Work with Electricians on review and preparation of all facilities maintenance tasks/MOPS when required as part of change management system
- Assist with and monitor all facilities record keeping
- Work with Electricians to maintain accurate site documentation such as maintenance records, power consumption, temperature trends, PUE trends, etc.
- Ensure that best practices are adhered to in areas of cooling and electrical documentation
- Participate in facilities post incident reviews as required
- Participate in regular facilities audits
