Department Overview
TD Auto Finance (TDAF) is a dynamic division within TD that provides a robust array of automotive financing options to meet our customers' needs as well as the needs of our dealer partners. In Canada, we also finance recreational and leisure vehicles and serve the Prime and Non-Prime Auto market.
In the goal to become Canada’s #1 auto lender, we are over 900 people strong, including an external sales team located coast to coast, as well as teams in credit adjudication, funding, inside sales, loan administration, customer service, collections and recovery, and our federated functions of risk management, technology solutions, finance and human resources. Our Canadian offices are located in Toronto, ON, Brossard, QC, and Nanaimo, BC. The Communications, Customer and Employee Experience team works with executives across TDAF to support strategic initiatives. Functioning as an internal consulting team, it focuses on projects and initiatives with both short-term tactical requirements and long-term strategic implications.
Job Description/Accountabilities
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a flair for graphic design, who is passionate about communications and is looking to begin their communications career. The successful candidate will manage TD Auto Finance's intranet portal to drive online engagement, develop internal communications, and support the communications team's daily operations.
Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Customer Experience, the Intranet & Communications Coordinator will work with business partners and the TDAF Communications and Experience team to drive our strategy forward with timely and creative communications and the effective management of an engaging and well-organized intranet hub. And they will help ensure a consistent voice and positioning across all of our internal platforms.
The position requires a creative self-starter who thrives in an environment that encourages innovation and creativity. This person must possess strong problem-solving and time management skills, strong communications skills (written and verbal), a commitment to quality and accuracy, some design and/or multimedia training, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Communications:
- Write, edit and publish a variety of short communications
- Coordinate the scheduling, development and distribution of recurring monthly internal and external-facing newsletters and publications
- Support our dealer experience through TDAF personnel announcements and updating dealer-facing items, including contact cards and PowerPoint presentations
- Support our media and socialmedia presence through content creation, design and media planning
- Maintain internal control documents, including readership metrics and feedback
- Manage distribution lists and inboxes
- Build effective partnerships and establish the role as a key partner through strong communication and organizational skills
- Make recommendations on use of communication tools and vehicles to deliver meaningful and relevant content, based on audience needs
- Work collaboratively on cross-functional teams to deliver on program and project outcomes effectively and on time
- Other duties as required
Intranet:
- Manage the TD Auto Finance intranet to maintain a proper balance of content and tools
- Execute against an intranet strategy to support the business's needs and drive employee engagement
- Maintain and enforce content guidelines, aligning with enterprise-wide best practices
- Oversee and maintain intranet publication schedules, including banners, and circulars
- Provide guidance to stakeholders based on best practices for online communication and content management, and help execute these updates as needed
- Work with content sponsors to validate and maintain existing intranet content. Action content reviews as required
- Manage project deliverables, ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner
- Consolidate feedback and provide recommendations for enhancements
- Other duties as required
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Highly organized, with proven ability to meet tight timelines while managing multiple projects and requests
- Detail-oriented, focused on quality and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Able to build relationships and work collaboratively to resolve issues
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail
- Passionate, proactive and energetic, with a strong sense of team
- Enjoy working independently, as well as part of a team to develop and share related technical and creative design skills
- Intranet or Website publishing experience considered an asset
- Experience with Canva considered an asset
