About the Team:
The Fund Accounting team is a high performing team responsible for the internal fund administration for several Mutual Fund Trusts and Limited Partnerships.
Purpose of the Role::
We are recruiting for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing Fund Operations team. You will play a key role in the day to day operations of the firm by performing basic daily fund operations for the fund accounting team and for the funds. This provides an excellent opportunity to use your creativity and ingenuity to improve systems and provide professional and insightful support to the team. You will report directly to the Manager, Fund Accounting.
This is a hybrid role located in Vancouver.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts payable (AP) processes for Nicola Funds/LPs, including processing third-party invoices, reconciling expenses and accruals, and ensuring timely payments to avoid late fees and interest charges.
- Oversee the accounts receivable (AR) processes for Nicola Funds/LPs, tracking incoming wires to ensure all income and cash items are accurately recorded.
- Support investment funding processes, such as setting up wires for capital calls and conducting callback procedures with external parties to verify banking information.
- Act as the main contact point for banking-related tasks and ensuring timely execution of wire transfers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
- Handle physical mails received in the team’s mailbox, scanning and documenting them appropriately for record-keeping.
- Review invoices against contracts, where applicable, to ensure accuracy.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency by automating and streamlining existing processes.
- Provide additional accounting and administrative support to the team as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in accounting, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet competing deadlines.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
This position comes with a base salary range of
$50,000 - $64,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
