Job Description
What you’ll be doing
CIBC’s Deposits Business team has ownership of a wide range of products within Personal and Business Banking, including GICs, Everyday Savings, Everyday Banking and Payments with a focus on Client Acquisition, Enablement and Success. Our mandate includes end to end oversight of product development, business development, campaign implementation, client relationship management and managing the P/L.
As a Product Consultant, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to our dynamic team's efforts in the fast-paced world of deposit products. This position offers exposure to various aspects of the personal deposits industry, including campaign development, product management, reporting, and innovation. You will play a vital role in supporting our team's mission to optimize payment processes, enhance industry relationships, and drive operational excellence.

Important Information
- You must be currently enrolled in post-graduate education to be eligible, however, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for this role

- You are a university student pursuing a Masters degree. Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics major is an asset, but not required

How You’ll Succeed
- Reporting - Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management, providing updates on team activities and industry insights.
- Industry Research - Conduct research on payment industry trends, benchmarks, and emerging technologies to provide insights and recommendations. Perform deep dives with regards to penetration, attrition, priority segments performance and areas of opportunity.
- Innovation Initiatives - Collaborate with team members on innovation projects, helping to implement new solutions and technologies.
- Performance Monitoring - Assist with product launches and monitor campaign performance, review existing portfolios and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Problem solving - You take initiative to develop creative solutions. You engage with team members and business partners to achieve common goals. You are able to work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop a deeper understanding of the bank’s processes.
- Strong Communication skills - You have well developed interpersonal skills. You are able to take complex concepts and present them in easy to understand written and graphical formats, utilizing spreadsheets, presentation software and web tools. You present your insights, translating them into meaningful observations for varying audience types. You have strong verbal and presentation skills.
- Adaptive - You are able to work independently with guidance from management and also in a dynamic team environment.
