We a Precision Sheet Metal/Machine and Stamping Shop is looking to hire a Junior Purchaser. We have been in business for over 45 years and are located in Richmond.
Responsibilities:
Analysis of current plant supplies and services for uninterrupted flow. This review is to include but is not limited to, quality, price, delivery, logistical advantage, and after normal hours, availability of product and systems for emergency requirements.
- Selection of vendors/suppliers/sub-contractors
- Oversees/performs cycle counts and inventory accuracy
- Management of the purchase order process for financial accuracy and timeliness of ensuring supply and services meet requirements.
- Review and provide resolution to the “Open Order” report, expedite, close and/or cancel aged purchase orders.
- Provide timely processing of all receipts and invoice discrepancies (P.O./price)
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and provide accurate and timely reporting to Management on supply opportunities and threats, cost change and provide cost improvement per company requirements as per goals and objectives.
- Team player who collaborates well with all departments.
- Assist department on project work as assigned
- All other duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience with ERP systems focused on Inventory and Procurement modules.
- Manufacturing experience with a focus on ferrous and non-ferrous material
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent business and technical experience relating to manufacturing material management, warehousing and procurement.
- APICS or any other Professional certification would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of financial transactions and impacts as related to inventory
- Completes assignments with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, problem solving skills and sound decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of all levels within the organization.
- Strong organizational, time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Experience and knowledge of Purchasing policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
