What is the Opportunity?
- Associates fulfil key leadership roles at Entuitive. All Associates are team players who internally and externally socialize what it means to be Entuitive and who positively contribute to the betterment of this firm. The degree to which an individual contributes to, leads or proactively drives a portion of the business defines the role of Associate.
- The Associate, Fire Engineering will fulfil several key technical and leadership roles at Entuitive. The successful individual is expected to be an independent leader and entrepreneurial, a subject matter expert in building code compliance and fire safety engineering practices, and will be client facing. They will have experience delivering fire engineering and building code compliance solutions as part of a multidisciplinary firm.
- You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for fire engineering and code compliance, technical delivery of these projects with assistance from the fire engineering team, preparing correspondence and technical reports, and identifying opportunities for Alternative Solutions. The individual will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture.
What will you do?
Business Development & Client Relations
- Winning work is a part of the Associate role, in collaboration with our pack approach to business development.
- Provides creative and technical input into proposal development working closely with the marketing team to clearly demonstrate Entuitive's capabilities.
- Focusses on maintaining existing client relations by ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and services offered exceeds our clients' expectations in terms of quality.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Provides day-to-day guidance to teams ensuring to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared and creative solutions are supported.
- Responsible for developing staff through mentoring and providing ongoing feedback along with conducting the annual review process to grow the future leaders of the firm.
- Participates in corporate leadership by contributing to the fire engineering service strategy and internal committees (Technical and BD+Marketing)
Technical Delivery
- Provides technical expertise to fire engineering and building code compliance projects, developing either prescriptive or technically sound bespoke approaches to fire safety.
- Engage and implement Quality Control measures and activities supporting a continuous improvement mind set and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Investigate and promote the use of advanced methods, techniques, technology or processes within project teams and throughout the firm.
- Responsible for signing and sealing engineering reports as needed ensuring a high level of professional integrity and a commitment to high quality standards.
Project Management
- Responsible for effective project management and project profitability using internal Entuitive tools including managing project budgets using the appropriate cost control methods, and ensuring scheduling and resourcing plans meet the needs of project deliverables.
- Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.
- Associates fulfill the role of a project engineer or project principal on multiple projects depending on the size and complexity of the projects.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
- 10+ years of experience in building code compliance and providing input to performance-based Alternative Solutions in a consulting environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field, or Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
- Registered as or working towards registration as a Professional Engineer or other professional designation such as BCIN Professional.
- Experience interpreting and applying regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop performance-based solutions meeting the requirements of the regulations and achieving approvals.
- Strong business acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks, including with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
- The willingness to be Entuitive.
