We are looking for accounting co-op students passionate about accounting for the Summer 2025 term. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual that is excited about challenging work, is obsessively organized, and has a commitment to continuous improvement. You have a knack for problem solving and are always seeking to learn more about accounting and bookkeeping. If you take immense satisfaction from getting a difficult reconciliation to balance or solving what feels unsolvable you would be a good fit for our team.
What will your days look like
- Bookkeeping for multiple public/private clients in various industries in both Canada and the US including AR, AP, bank transactions, reconciliations, GST filings, journal entries, etc.
- Maintaining organized e-records of all invoices/statements
- Dealing with foreign exchange transactions
- Assisting in providing documents for our clients' audits. We work with many of the mid-size accounting firms in Vancouver.
- Preparing working papers for financial statement line items
- Supporting various projects and administrative tasks as required.
Our ideal candidate...
- Is in progress on a Bachelor’s degree or diploma specializing in accounting
- Is in a recognized co-op program (current enrollment in your institution’s co-op program is a requirement for this position)
- Can navigate the tribulations of formatting documents in Word.
- Is comfortable working in Excel
- Works well under the pressure of deadlines
- Is interested in taking in taking on challenging work to grow their skills within a supportive learning environment.
- Embraces new technology.
- Is extremely detail-oriented and meticulous, even to the point where some might find it annoying
- Is interested in pursuing a CPA designation.
Bonuses would be…
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Customer service or client service experience
- Exposure to accounting software like Quickbooks and Sage 50 – even just through a course

- If you join us after your term, we will cover your CPA schooling, annual dues, and professional development courses. Better yet, we do not have a claw-back policy - if you decide to leave Treewalk at any point, we will never ask for that money back.
- We encourage you to work from wherever is most convenient and productive for you. We offer fully remote work options within Canada, although you’re welcome to work hybrid or in our offices as well.
- Work with a team of other CPA students to experienced CFOs, with opportunities of mentorship and exposure to different careers in accounting.

Salary: $23 per hour
Treewalk is able to offer this co-op position thanks to the federal government's SWPP program. In order to participate in this program, eligible participants must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2. This position is only open to candidates who meet one of these criteria.
