Position Overview:
As a Business development representative your
primary responsibilities will revolve around driving new sales mostly within the province of British Columbia. Your organizational skills are
second to none, and you recognize the importance of utilizing a CRM to enhance
your performance and efficiency. Your leadership qualities and expertise will
play a pivotal role in elevating our market presence and attaining exceptional
sales outcomes. Your unwavering commitment to a proven consultative sales approach fuels your motivation, while simultaneously assuming full ownership of your actions and methodologies. Your presentation skills are polished and professional. You have experience developing relationships in all levels of the construction and building materials industry. These qualities form the bedrock of your remarkable success.
Compensation structure:
Your compensation structure will reward results and success, we offer a competitive base salary plus an uncapped bonus/commission plan. OTE $90-120k
Key Responsibilities:
· Seek out and win new customers, projects and specifications
· Create a plan for your geographic territory and execute that plan while utilizing CRM and other tools to maximize your effectiveness
· Implement the approved sales strategy to effectively reach and surpass sales targets, all the while taking the time to comprehend the client's specific goals to offer tailored solutions and aid in their attainment.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships: Build and nurture relationships with key clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements.
· Technical expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of the construction materials offered by the company, including their specifications, applications, and performance characteristics, to effectively consult and guide clients in selecting the right materials for their projects.
· Specification management: Proactively work with architects, designers, and other influencers in the construction industry to get the company's products specified in upcoming projects. Stay up to date with industry trends and regulations to align the product offerings accordingly.
· Market analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth. Provide valuable insights to the management team to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.
· Sales and revenue targets: Achieve sales targets for assigned accounts, focusing on revenue growth and market share expansion. Implement strategies to increase sales volumes, negotiate contracts, and ensure long-term customer loyalty.
· Proposal preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive proposals, including product specifications, pricing, and terms, to secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
· Contract negotiation: Skillfully negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms while safeguarding the company's interests.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales in the construction industry or Building materials space, ideally in the flooring industry.
· Deep understanding of the construction industry influencer and decision maker reality
· Have a Hunter mentality with a strong desire to win
· Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
· Analytical mindset, adept at utilizing data to drive strategic decision-making.
· Results-oriented and driven by a passion for exceeding targets and achieving success.
· Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to engage with sales team members and clients, attend industry events, and strengthen our market presence.
