JOB SUMMARY
Nonni Property Group is growing and has a pipeline of exciting projects, and we are seeking a detail-oriented, highly engaged, and driven Accountant to join our team, for a 1-year contract role with the potential to become permanent. This position reports directly to the Director, Finance and Accounting, working out of our Vancouver office. Working within a small office environment, this role will work with and learn from different team members, get involved in various short and long-term dynamic projects, and grow and evolve with the organization. This is a full-time position, however, there is flexibility for candidates looking for fewer hours.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting financial operations. Tasks will include accounts
payable, bank and expense reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
· Accounts payable responsibilities include managing the payables inbox, reviewing and accurately coding
invoices, processing payments, reconciliation of discrepancies, and vendor information maintenance.
· Assist with development accounting for various projects, including recording of contracts within the system.
· Preparation and entry of various journal entries and data uploads
· Proactively address reconciliation discrepancies or bring them to the attention of the Director
· Perform month-end processes and compile year-end working papers as assigned.
· Provide timely and accurate accounting information.
· Assist with ad-hoc and special projects as assigned.
· Manage administrative tasks and assist the accounting team as required.
· Effectively collaborate with the Director on internal processes and support financial reporting.
SKILLS
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and technological skills, including intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
· Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), is an asset.
· Accurate and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with those internal and
external to the organization.
· Cultivate and maintain positive internal and external relationships while providing ongoing support to internal
teams to achieve departmental objectives and organizational goals.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive work environment.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; takes action regularly and seeks out assistance and resources
when required.
· Possess a high standard of ethics and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
· Self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
· Professional, energetic, and a positive attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE
· Education in Accounting or a related field, working towards or having an accounting designation (CPA or
equivalent), is desirable.
· 1-2 years in a similar role preferred, preferably in the real estate industry.
· Experience using an accounting program, Yardi Voyager is an asset
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 per annum. The actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
