Schedule and Hourly Rate
The Machinist/Fabricator is employed full-time for a guaranteed minimum of 40 work hours/week. Overtime hours are worked as required to meet project deadlines. Salary is dependent upon experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate theatrical rigging systems, curtain motors, stage lifts, etc.
- Report to Director of Operations, communicate with shop and office team including Draftspersons, Project Manager, and Office Manager
- Work as Lead Hand, taking responsibility on key tasks and supporting shop team
- Identify/learn various building components across a variety of projects
- Accurately interpret blueprints and fabricate according to specifications
- Assisting shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks
- Assembling rigging to move material and heavy equipment
- Comply with all safety procedures
- Maintain a good work ethic and positive attitude
- Keep workspace clean, safe, free of hazards
Requirements
- Works well independently and with a team
- Proven experience of meeting deadlines
- Self-starter, works efficiently and seeks out new tasks
- Capable of regular heavy lifting and working at heights
- Experience operating welding equipment (MIG, ARC)
- Experience with rigging and electrical control systems preferred
- Proficient communication skills, written and spoken English
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License (G Class)
