Schedule and Hourly Rate

The Lead Hand/Shop Foreman is employed full-time for a guaranteed minimum of 40 work hours/week. Overtime hours are worked as required to meet project deadlines. Salary is dependent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate theatrical rigging systems, curtain motors, stage lifts, etc.
Report to VP of Operations, communicate with shop and office team including Draftspersons, Project Manager, and Office Manager
Work as Shop Foreman, taking responsibility on key tasks and supporting shop team
Identify/learn various building components across a variety of projects
Accurately interpret blueprints and fabricate according to specifications
Assisting shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks
Assembling rigging to move material and heavy equipment
Comply with all safety procedures
Maintain a good work ethic and positive attitude
Keep workspace clean, safe, free of hazards

Requirements

Works well independently and with a team
Strong Leadership and Mentoring Skills
Time Management
Proven experience of meeting deadlines
Self-starter, works efficiently and seeks out new tasks
Capable of regular heavy lifting and working at heights
Experience operating welding equipment (MIG, ARC)
Experience with rigging and electrical control systems preferred
Proficient communication skills, written and spoken English
A valid Ontario Driver’s License (G Class)
