Supply Chain Intern
We are seeking a passionate and driven Supply Chain Intern to support key sustainability projects that align with BIC Canada’s environmental goals. This role is ideal for recent post-graduate candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in sustainability, project management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a vital role in initiatives that aim to increase our Sustainability Score, reduce carbon emissions, and optimize resource efficiency. This position will offer a hands-on experience with impactful sustainability projects, exposure to cross-functional collaboration and decision-making processes, opportunities to enhance both hard and soft skills, tailored to your career objectives and a supportive environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports, and policies based on sustainability audit findings.
- Support global reporting and compliance efforts, including alignment with frameworks like GRI, UNGC, and NPEGC.
- Analyze data related to energy consumption, carbon emissions, and waste management to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Packaging, and Vendor Management, to drive sustainability initiatives.
- Research and propose both short-term and long-term projects to reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency.
- Prepare presentations and reports summarizing project progress and findings for internal stakeholders.
Preferred background
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience with report writing.
- Ability to manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
- A creative and problem-solving mindset, with a passion for sustainability and innovation.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, UNGC) or knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes is a plus.
- Bachelors Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
