Railtown Café & Catering is looking for a pastry cook to join the team!
Railtown is a chef driven business that focuses on high quality food made from scratch.
This position is responsible for the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries that are used in our three quick-service lunch restaurants as well as our full service catering division.
This is a great opportunity to join a well established company that is still growing with room to advance.
Hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts according to established recipes.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and attention to detail to enhance visual appeal.
- Ensure all food safety and handling standards are strictly followed during preparation and storage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely production of pastries for service.
- Package baked items appropriately for display or delivery, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and placing orders as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of professional pastry experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to baking and pastry creation.
- Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
- Ability to bake various types of pastries with precision and consistency.
- Works well alone and with others.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
