Railtown Café & Catering is looking for a pastry cook to join the team!

Railtown is a chef driven business that focuses on high quality food made from scratch.

This position is responsible for the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries that are used in our three quick-service lunch restaurants as well as our full service catering division.

This is a great opportunity to join a well established company that is still growing with room to advance.

Hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts according to established recipes.
Decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and attention to detail to enhance visual appeal.
Ensure all food safety and handling standards are strictly followed during preparation and storage.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely production of pastries for service.
Package baked items appropriately for display or delivery, ensuring freshness and quality.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and placing orders as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 2 years of professional pastry experience
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures.
Proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to baking and pastry creation.
Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
Ability to bake various types of pastries with precision and consistency.
Works well alone and with others.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
