Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring additional support in their daily lives. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and companionship.
Duties
- Provide caregiving services to individuals with disabilities and seniors in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with dementia care by implementing strategies that promote cognitive engagement and comfort.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that each client's needs are met effectively.
- Document client progress and report any changes in condition or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities and senior care practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and dietary needs for various health conditions.
- Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- A caring demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in diverse environments.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality care.
