What You’ll Do
The Promo Business Decision Support Analyst role is to develop and support Promo Operations and Analytics for the POST application and related processes to enable day-to-day decision making and support teams in building and executing their promotional plans.
The Decision Support Analyst collaborates closely with the POST Product Owner, Front End Users, Business Analysts, and IT partners to provide technical expertise, perform data analysis and reporting and help to coordinate key Marketing Promotions Operations processes.
In this role you are expected to be striving for continuous accumulation of knowledge both on technical front and business processes which facilitate enhancements and on-going maintenance of promo systems.
- Act as subject matter expert across various systems by actively pursuing knowledge and experience with Canadian Tire Retail, SportChek and Mark’s marketing processes and systems
- Represent the business users in agile project meetings (daily stand ups, architecture, grooming, backlog)
- Take the lead in triaging and troubleshooting promotional system issues
- Collaborate with users to understand, define and document both business and technical requirements and translate them into user specifications
- Write user stories for future enhancements, participate in UAT/BAT testing
- Responsible for running and maintaining reports for users
- Identify discrepancies across multiple business systems and investigate root cause of issue
- Participate in quarterly Program Increment Planning
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in computer science, business and/or engineering
- 2+ years Business Analysis experience
- Familiar with Agile Delivery, Continuous Delivery and Software Development Life Cycle processes
- Knowledge of marketing business processes and/or understanding of retail principles
- Experience in change management, process analysis, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Ability to prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives in support of long-term goals while maintaining stakeholder expectations
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to formulate option development and recommendations
- Ability to work independently, being self sufficient to take the initiative on leading work
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with other team members
- Flexibility to come into the Toronto office multiple times a week
