Read travelers to ascertain the equipment and materials required.
Set up tooling, position gauges and guards to produce a variety of notches, holes, extrusions according to specifications on sketches or drawings.
Performs daily pre-start check on equipment before start of shift.
Activate pedal or palm buttons to perform operation to parts.
Maintain production process in a capable and aligned state.
Monitor and verify that the quality and quantity work produced meets Bobrick standards.
Prepare detail parts transfer report and stock receipt for storage or transfer. Report any problems or discrepancies encountered during the process to department lead hand.
Ensure that incoming and outgoing materials conform to Bobrick specifications; document quality issues using the appropriate forms.
Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly by following safe operating procedures.
Participate in and produce new methods improvements ideas continually.
Participate and support projects, charter teams and events to meet the company stated goals and budget.
Uses all protective devices with guards properly set and in good repair.
Maintain equipment in good functional order.
Work under the guidance of the SBF when applicable.
Report unsafe conditions/hazards to department supervisor immediately.
Report any problems in business or equipment to department lead person and/or supervisor.
Assist lead person in training lower grade employees in set up, machine operation and safe working procedures including personal safe guards.
Assist higher grade operators in Tandem operations.
Set up and operate Grade 4 machines: Fladder, Small Shear, Power Notcher, Hand tools, Multi-cells, Small Punch Presses (80 Ton Komatsu, 120 Ton Aida and 150 Ton Aida)
Perform other functions as assigned. To include, assist with tandem operations on other equipment.
