What you will do…
Working directly with the Executive Managing Director, you will …
- Develop and execute visual merchandising strategies to maximize sales and support promotional marketing calendar and merchandise deliveries
- Participate in planning and collaborate with Operations, Product Development, Marketing and Distribution to set and calendarize visual direction
- Source and purchase props and mannequin underpinnings to support merchandise displays within budget constraints; conduct related inventory audits as required
- Develop visual merchandising standards and best practices consistent with brand aesthetic, and evaluate visual standards and execution on a quarterly basis
- Train new management team members on visual standards relevant to specific locations
- Produce and install window, in-store and point of purchase displays, signs, zone layouts and special promotional campaign/seasonal displays in selected store(s) and prepare related written directives for chain-wide execution
- Oversee timely chain-wide display directive implementation based on submitted pictures and provide feedback to store management to ensure brand consistency and improve level of execution and productivity
- Perform other related special projects and duties as assigned.
What you bring to the team…
- Equivalent of post-secondary diploma or degree in merchandising, graphic or interior design, visual communications, retail/fashion business management
- Relevant progressive visual merchandising experience in retail fashion industry with knowledge of current fashion and styling trends
- Portfolio of relevant fashion merchandising work showcasing sophisticated, contemporary fashion aesthetic
- Proficient computer skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or other visual design software
- Fluent English verbal and written communication and presentation skills essential
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Creative, innovative and resourceful thinker with ability to solve problems, use critical thinking and apply sound judgment in resolving problems and escalating to senior management when necessary
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player with Marketing, Merchandising and Retail Operations management and staff and with Company owners
- Demonstrated high degree of work organization with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work independently or as a team player
- Demonstrates a sense of ownership, responsibility and urgency in task completion and follow up of commitments
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, transition between tasks and flexible to adapt quickly to changing priorities while working under pressure and within time constraints to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Hard working, positive, can-do attitude with ability to accept and learn from feedback
- Excellent attendance and punctuality with a strong work ethic, conscientiousness, and reliability
- Physically fit and capable of lifting weights of up to 20 kg, using hand tools and ladders, and manipulating banners, mannequins etc. to install window and floor displays
- Available to work flexible hours and travel to GTA store locations regularly and including out of province stores s required; valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle required
- Ability to follow health and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
