Position Overview:
The Sales Director will lead the sales function across all locations, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and strategic business goals. This individual will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, optimizing staffing levels, and implementing training programs to ensure sales team effectiveness. The role involves travel to various locations to provide hands-on support, conduct training, and ensure consistent performance standards nationwide. Additionally, the Sales Director will work closely with the Operations Director to ensure seamless coordination and will play a pivotal role in strategic planning and execution for opening new locations in cities across Canada, driving both residential and commercial business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed $15 million in annual sales.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Operational Alignment:
- Liaise with the Operations Director to ensure sales processes and quotes align with operational capabilities to maintain customer satisfaction and efficiency.
- Work closely with operations leaders to address challenges and refine workflows.
- Staffing and Team Development:
- Assess and maintain optimal staffing levels across all locations to meet business demands.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of sales staff.
- Conduct regular training sessions and professional development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Strategic Planning and Expansion:
- Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of new locations in cities across Canada.
- Develop and execute strategies to attract new residential and commercial business in new and existing markets.
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Process Optimization and Tools:
- Implement and manage CRM systems, quoting software, and other tools to standardize and streamline sales processes.
- Regularly review and refine sales processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Travel and On-Site Support:
- Travel to locations nationwide to conduct training, support sales initiatives, and ensure consistency in performance and service delivery.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on sales performance, market trends, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the moving, storage, or logistics industry.
- Proven ability to lead and scale a national sales team in a $5-$10 million+ revenue environment.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and quoting tools.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to various locations across Canada.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in aligning sales and operational goals to drive overall business success.
