TRADES ASSISTANT

Summary Of Duties
Reporting to the Director of Facilities/ Designate and in collaboration with the IT Manager, the Trades Assistant is responsible for assistance with a range of projects including IT related projects, the delivery and set up of staging and lighting for school functions; a variety of semi-skilled duties; and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district Facilities requirements, in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures. Please note the hours for this position from 11:00-7:00pm.

Required Qualifications And Experience
Grade 12 Graduation
Minimum Of 2 Years Related Experience
Ability to read drawings and blueprints
Valid BC Drivers License
Ability to analyze, interpret and use judgement in the resolution of problems
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
Demonstrated ability in a variety of functions within the construction industry
Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team
Physical ability to perform the assigned duties (including climbing ladders and scaffolds)
OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Ability to work on electrical equipment
Knowledge and experience with technology
