Purpose of the Role: The IT Technical Specialist (Corporate Applications) designs, builds and maintains Commercial off-the-shelf software solutions and services. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Business Applications, the IT Technical Specialist develops and/or promotes technical solutions which support LifeLabs’ business requirements. This role works closely with business users to develop new business requirements and to assess requests for enhancements. They will also support any change management related to updates/changes in business processes and system functionality.
Your responsibilities will include: Design, build, implement and maintain Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software solutions and services
- Maintain highest levels of development practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code
- Perform technical development activities (Java, PL/SQL, Biapps and reports) and functional module configuration work in Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle EPM, Oracle Application Express, Kronos and other COTS applications
- Integrate third party products into internal systems as well as support and upgrade implemented systems
- Implement solutions and execute upgrade plans partnering with the appropriate IT teams
- Build technical solutions that automate business processes
- Ensure technical integration of business process solutions during transition of new applications to Production
- Effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Identify problems and makes recommendations regarding most expedient approach to problem resolution
- Manage changes to the Business, Data and Applications architecture
- Formulate detailed specifications based on user requirements
- Debug software programs and procedures
Liaise with Business Relationship Management team to formulate new system requirements and assess enhancement requests to fulfil ongoing business needs
- Analyze business requirements; conducts feasibility tests
- Prepare functional/technical specifications
- Conduct high-level system function design
- Manage system scope and user expectations
Support the change management and adoption of new systems and processes by stakeholders
- Coordinate user acceptance test
- Prepare system user guides and communication material
- Arrange and deliver user training
- Liaise with QA and business users for system migration
- Liaise with IT Technical and Operation Teams for production readiness
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Functional/technical consultant/developer in Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle EPM, Oracle Application Express and other COTS applications
- 3 years of experience as a consultant/Application Support Analyst
- 3 years of experience in Implementing/ supporting Oracle Fusion Application/Oracle EPM/Archer/Visual Lease
- Experience with Kronos would be an asset
- Knowledge of Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), Azure Devops
- Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus
