Part-Time Accounting Clerk – In-house

Inventa is looking for a detail-oriented and organized part-time Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting team in our Vancouver office. This is a part-time role working 20 – 25 hour per week in-office, and you will be supporting our financial operations. You will work closely with our Accountant and will also report directly to Inventa’s Manager of Finance and HR.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student or new grad looking for their first role in accounting, who already has a strong grasp of accounting basics, excellent Excel skills, and familiarity with accounting software like Simplii, Sage or Quickbooks.

What we expect from you:
- Perform Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivables (A/R) posting entries
- Interact with our internal client service teams regarding outstanding invoices, open POs, etc.
- Assist with bi-weekly cheque run
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and data comparisons
- Verify and enter employee expenses and AMEX
- Assist in detailed program reconciliations and customer audits for large-scale programs
- Provide support and back-up Payroll
- Collaborate on tasks requiring basic GST/taxation knowledge
We will provide you with training for all the job duties listed
What we’re looking for:
- Successful completion or enrollment in college-level accounting courses
- Exposure working in a professional office environment in accounting
- Competent English language skills
- Business communication (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail, organized and proactively communicative
- MS Office experience with proficiency in Excel
- Exposure to accounting software such as Simplii, Sage, or Quickbooks is an asset
- Experience working with ERP software an asset
- Experience with project or time-Billings an asset
Location and Hours:
- This role is an in-office role working at our Vancouver office
- Work hours will be each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 6-7 hours each day
Wage:
- You will be paid an hourly wage of $20 – 22 per hour, dependent on your experience
