Job Summary:
DC Staffing solutions is looking for Seasonal Wheel loader Operators for one of our potential client located in concord, ON.
Roles and Responsibilities/ What to expect:
● Reports to account manager / route supervisor
● Operating a loader with a plow, pusher, or bucket.
● Some shovelling and hand salting will be required (entrances and small walkways).
● Going on salt bin refilling runs as needed.
● You will be assigned and responsible for a route with an expected completion time of 8-10 hours/ round (based on 4-6 inches of snow).
● Communicate with the team to make sure plowing and salt application times are well coordinated.
● You are expected to work when there is snow forecasted. This includes weekends, holidays, as well as pre-salting routes when freezing rain is forecasted.
● Utilize the YETI software to cost track labour and salt usage.
● Checking and testing all equipment before each outing.
● Maintenance of your loader is your responsibility and must be done after each outing:
- Pressure washing exterior of the vehicle and equipment after each outing.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the interior of the vehicle after each outing.
- Maintaining (greasing) equipment as needed.
● Checking and reporting any damage to the account manager immediately.
● You are expected to manage time to complete all snow clearing/salting operations by set deadline, and communicate any extenuating circumstances to the account manager.
● All equipment, tools, training, and detailed site maps will be provided.
● Uniforms will be provided, excluding winter boots and jacket (sweater, hat, gloves, face shield, reflective vest).
Mandatory Requirements:
● Valid ‘G’ driver's license (or higher) with a clean abstract, and reliable transportation to and from the contract site.
● Comfortable driving in the snow.
● 24/7 on-call availability.
● Must have access to a mobile smartphone.
