Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of welders in the assembly, fabrication, and building of various metal structures
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welders
- Ensure proper welding techniques and quality standards are followed
- Inspect completed welds for defects and make necessary repairs
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Operate a forklift to move materials as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a welder, with expertise in various welding techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficient in using welding equipment and tools
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a welding environment
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required
