Reporting to the Manager, Content Marketing, the Specialist, Content Marketing assists with the creation of content that aids the Destination Vancouver on delivering against its purpose of supporting Vancouver's tourism industry in developing their experiences, and promoting Vancouver in target Canadian, US, and international markets.
The Specialist will play a pivotal role in executing the content strategies that deliver against Destination Vancouver’s objectives, executing creative storytelling that helps build the brand and differentiates Vancouver from other destinations. They assist with the development, management and distribution of the content.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with the team on the creation and distribution of brand-aligned content that delivers on the needs of the wider business across stills, b-roll, video assets and copy.
- Assist with destination storytelling to bring the Vancouver brand to life through visual and written content, using best practices for AI discoverability.
- Coordinate content planning and production.
- Support content management systems.
- Ensure the availability of assets to deliver against organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the management of the content production of our blog, contributing new content ideas, reviewing copy, and ensuring optimisation for SEO and AI search.
- Edits video content to deliver tailored assets for wider teams.
- Collaborates with internal departments as needed to determine content requirements that meet strategic and brand objectives and ensure appropriate delivery.
- Engages with agency partners, production companies, freelancers and other third-party suppliers and talent to deliver assets effectively and efficiently.
- Builds connections and engage audiences with Vancouver’s creators, members, industry, and communities.
- Coordinates and attends photo and video shoots as needed.
- Manages communication and relationships with pool of blogwriters.
- Organises captured imagery across internal and external systems as needed.
- Coordinates purchase orders and invoice payment for content partners and vendors within the Content Marketing budget, keeping a log of expenditures and revenues.
- Supports the Manager, Content Marketing with administrative duties as required.
What are we looking for?
Required:
- Passionate about Vancouver as a place to live, work, play, experience and explore.
- Minimum of 2 years of related content creation or coordination.
- Experience editing videos for multiple platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar). Ability to incorporate graphics, transitions and end cards and prepare assets for delivery and has a good grasp of aspect ratios, resolutions and formats.
- Experience working with external suppliers such as copywriters, production companies or photographers.
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills for copy editing.
- Creative flair and a strong eye for engaging, on-brand content.
- Strong organizational skills for content management.
- Experience using content platforms, particularly web CMS platforms.
- Self-starter and skilled in balancing multiple deadlines in a busy work environment as well as collaborates effectively with a dynamic team.
- An understanding of brand standards, brand voice applications and an eye for brand alignment.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbal, written and interpersonally.
- Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
Nice to have:
- Comprehensive video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar).
- On-set experience for photo and/or video shoots.
- Understanding of SEO best practices.
- Experience using Google Analytics to inform content decisions.

This role is based in Destination Vancouver’s corporate office with sweeping views of the North Shore mountains and proximity to transit and downtown amenities.
