Who you are:
The Server role is integral to our success. You will be engaging with guests on a personal level while building their trust in you and in the TOOR Hotel. As a Server, you will be the one to assure our guests that they will receive quality service through your professionalism as you seamlessly guide them through the unique experience at Muse Bistro. We encourage you to welcome, inspire and delight each guest as you express genuine hospitality by providing personalized service that goes beyond expectations.
Duties and responsibilities related to the Server role:
- Welcome guests by being approachable, enthusiastic, professional, and hospitable in presence and demeanour
- Elevate the guest experience by anticipating guest needs, identifying their preferences and adapting the style of service accordingly
- Possess strong product knowledge of spirits, wine, beer and coffee that is demonstrated by the ability to speak on the subject; being able to influence and inspire
- Adaptable to steps-of-service variations between service periods and fulfilling service requirements to meet our guest's needs
- Correct use of POS system to record transactions, adhering to all company standards and policies
- Processing bills and taking payment while following cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies
- Use given empowerment to handle guest concerns with minimal supervision
- Possesses a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed
- Provide table maintenance, deliver food and beverages to tables/bar seats/rooms, and support bartenders, baristas and other associates as required
- Ensure food and beverages are presented with an exceptional level of detail prior to and upon delivery to guests, adding visual and artistic flair to captivate and entertain
- Restock beverage stations and mise-en-place as needed; ensure station areas and walkways are clean and free of clutter
- Ensure every restaurant and hotel guest leaves with fond memories by providing a unique and exceptional experience
- Any other duties as assigned by leadership to support the guest experience

- Organization: can effectively move between tasks and prioritize appropriately between execution, operational tasks, and cleanliness
- Outgoing & Sociable: has a natural ability to spark casual conversations, can read the “mood” of the room and adapt their personality (ex. upbeat vs. contemplative) to create an enjoyable atmosphere where guests feel comfortable
- Collaborative: focused on the success of the team, not the individual; genuinely willing and able to assist others in any capacity that may be required
- Salesmanship: speak informatively and intelligently about our food and beverage offerings, as well as hotel amenities, as a way of leading guests towards a decision that will satisfy their wants and needs at that moment; this includes and is not limited to topics of interest regarding the design, product identification or distinction of spirits, wine, beer and/or coffee
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a front-of-house role in a full-service restaurant, bar, or cocktail lounge
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to carry, move and lift items weighing up to 25lbs, must be able to stoop and bend, twist or turn to perform essential job functions
- Must be able to stand, walk and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
- Current and valid Smart Serve Certification
