Construction Project Coordination - 2 Years Experience Required
Mondconsult provides full-service construction and project management services on high-rise, mid-rise, low-rise, and commercial construction projects across the GTA. Mondconsult also offers professional management services for condo and townhome developments.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of cost plan and project schedule (estimate development, value engineering, and ensure cost-saving opportunities);
- Coordinate pre-construction activities, tendering, and all construction phases of the project
- Coordinate project start-up meetings for each phase of work; Engineering reviews; Post-it note scheduling sessions; and Constructability reviews;
- Plan, organize and direct pre-construction activities;
- Assist estimating team in preparation of project estimate or cost plan. Ensure estimates/cost plan incorporates value for the owner, accommodates the consultant's design intent and targeted profitability;
- Assist with selection of trades to tender for optimum project success;
- Oversee the tendering and awarding of sub-trade contracts, including the preparation and execution of subcontract agreements;
- Participate in the negotiation, preparation, and execution of sub-trades contracts
- Assist with the preparation and management of project budgets;
- Track project progress, variances, and recovery and identify trends;
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve issues/problems as, or before, they occur;
- Ensure accurate and timely project administration/contract administration, including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information, review of shop drawings, document control, and communication to all stakeholders;
- Work closely with project team members to identify, develop, implement, and support cost-effective project delivery.
- Qualifications:
- Over 2 years of construction management/coordination experience;
- Experience with a developer or general contractor working on residential and/or commercial type projects;
- Negotiating skills;
- The ability to read blueprints and specifications and prepare accurate quantity take-offs;
- The ability to prepare budgets from conceptual drawings;
- The ability to prepare complete scopes of work and to review and evaluate subcontractor tenders;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines;
- Work closely with team members and decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective project delivery;
- Ability to recognize areas for improvement and develop plans to fill these gaps;
- Ensure Constructability issues are addressed in advance of sub-trade tendering;
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
