JOB OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and maintenance of all physical aspects of hotel buildings, and other facilities. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing building systems, equipment, machinery, and structures, as well as performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on structures, systems, and equipment (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules for machinery, tools, and facility systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose issues with equipment and systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Repair and maintain building interiors and exteriors, ensuring safety and functionality on construction sites.
- Assist in the setup, installation, and testing of new machinery and construction equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, conducting safety checks on-site.
- Collaborate with construction teams to maintain facilities throughout the construction phase.
- Track, manage, and order parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance.
- Document maintenance work, including repairs and inspections, and report to management.
- Provide on-call support for emergency maintenance outside of regular hours.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in maintenance or construction preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or a related technical field.
- Proficient in using hand/power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy objects and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve maintenance issues and prevent project delays.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards, with the ability to work safely and in compliance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various environments, including dusty, noisy, and outdoors.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
