This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Burnaby, BC.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Worker’s Compensation Claims Coordinator (Injury Claims Coordinator) will be responsible for the case management of worker’s compensation claims and support of return-to-work plans. Working with regulators, supervisors, medical professionals, and the affected employee to safely return workers to pre-injury job tasks.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for case management activities of all occupational injuries to support a safe, timely and sustainable return to work. Including support and educating managers in workers in the injury management process
- Develop and implement return to work plans in collaboration with the injured employee and their manager. Assist in identifying appropriate modified duties within employee restrictions. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Maintain a high level of support for injured employees through frequent communication, collaboration with the employee and their care providers. Monitoring the progress of the employee, communicating and collaborating with managers and worker’s compensation board in support of a safe return to work.
- Work with Director of Health & Safety in the design and roll out of processes for effective claims management.
- Prepare reports and statistical data of injuries for presentation to various internal groups.
- Administration and maintenance of Safety Management System – updating assets, users, forms, locations etc.
- Various administrative duties in support of the safety program as assigned including tracking and follow up on overdue items.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Post secondary degree in a related field, preferred certifications as CRTWC, CDMP or RTWDM
- 2 + years experience managing worker’s compensation claims and/or managing work related injury claims
- Experience providing end to end case management of occupational injuries and demonstrated experience coordinating with the injured worker, company managers, physicians, workers compensation board and other related parties
- Demonstrated knowledge and communication skills to provide a high level of support for employees and the ability to communicate and collaborate to support safe and successful return to work plans
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to access and review WCB regulations
- Computer skills and experience as needed to produce required reports
- Knowledge of safety management systems
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and maintain high levels of confidentiality and privacy
PAY RANGE
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 annually based on experience.
