As a Specialist, Diversity and Inclusion, you will be:
- Supporting the conceptualization, planning and execution of Inclusion Now initiatives and events that drive engagement and contribute to the development of a deeply inclusive Firm culture.
- Supporting the conceptualization, planning, and execution of programs and policies that increase the Firm’s overall EDI capacity, including those that eliminate structural barriers, satisfy external legal, certification or other requirements, advance EDI best practices, and drive accountability for Inclusion Now throughout the Firm.
- Supporting the conceptualization, planning, and execution of all internal and external Inclusion Now educational programs.
- Partnering with PR and HR in the development and implementation of student, lawyer and staff programming to deepen their experience of the Firm, and inclusion broadly.
- Leading collective learning discussions and events to deepen understanding of cultural competencies.
- Developing initial internal and external communications for the Inclusion Now Office (i.e. days of significance, internal leadership emails, MT Community, Inclusion Now Espresso Content, speaking remarks for leadership, lawyers, and staff).
- Serving as a DEI subject matter expert and trusted advisor and provide consultative support to the Inclusion Now Council, Action Group Chairs and Leads, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the National Action Group strategy and conceptualizing and implementing internal Firm engagement campaigns.
- Engaging Action Group volunteers, including all Action Group committees and subcommittees.
- Tracking Action Group engagement by collecting data on participation, inclusion and impact of Action Groups.
- Deepening and scale Action Group engagement through active recruitment of new members.
- Onboarding Action Group Chairs and new members with the Inclusion Now and Action Group strategy.
- Supporting, facilitating and leading Action Group meetings and discussions.
- Working closely with the Chief Inclusion Officer to build and manage community partnership agreements, ensuring a mutually beneficial partnership.
- Liaising and regularly meeting with community partners to track impact and progress of partnerships.
- Providing guidance and support for annual United Way Campaigns, including programing, communications and annual report.
- Working closely with the PR team to develop engaging student programming, and opportunities to elevate the Inclusion Now brand across law schools.
- Fostering relationships with students and Firm members involved in Inclusion Now by planning social activities and opportunities to foster meaningful connections.
- Building relationships with student affinity groups and incoming summer and articling students by facilitating presentations, moderating panel discussions, hosting socials and events for students.
- Working closely with Clients & Markets to conceptualize, plan, and execute client facing diversity and inclusion events, and initiatives.
- Responsible for drafting all content for client RFP responses, client questionnaires, ongoing and ad hoc reporting requests, including demographic data.
- Responsible for managing all Inclusion Now related assets and all for maintaining Inclusion Now data.
- Supporting the analysis of demographic Firm data.
- Supporting the administration and operations of the Inclusion Now Office.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience.
Experience in any/all the following areas would be an asset:
- Diversity and inclusion initiatives and/or corporate social responsibility;
- Communications, marketing and/or promoting a professional brand via a variety of social media channels;
- Project management tools and methodologies;
- Legal or professional services environment.
- Bilingualism (English-French) written and verbal, or proficiency in another language, would be an asset.
