McMillan has an exciting opportunity for a client-focused individual to join a fantastic team as an Event Technology Specialist in our Toronto Information Technology Department. Reporting to Manager, AV Services, the Event Technology Specialist is responsible for planning and facilitating a positive, consistent and flawless meeting experience for onsite and remote participants.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys working with audio/video technologies, computer hardware and online meeting platforms such as MS Teams, WebEx and Zoom, and has experience managing technical setups for onsite and virtual events, conferences and meetings.
It is important to note that this role has a requirement to work onsite in the Toronto office on a daily basis. This client facing role will provide professional technical support and services to firm members both onsite in a corporate environment and remotely.

What You’ll Do
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high quality, client focused corporate boardroom event and technology services through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of required AV equipment, and ensuring that all participants are appropriately connected, whether onsite or remote.
- Managing monitors, digital signage, Stream Deck, projectors, sound devices, PTZ cameras, clickers, online meeting and webcasting platforms.
- Liaising with respective personnel to provide onsite and remote event and boardroom support for events ranging from 2-100 attendees.
- Operating a digital mixing board, which includes, but is not limited to, network based signal routing, in-room and audio feed via Dante to a web-based platform such as MS Teams and Zoom.
- Assisting with video conference, and online meetings through MS Teams, Cisco WebEx and Zoom.
- Monitoring and managing meetings or events onsite and remotely, assisting with content sharing and trouble-shooting as necessary.
- Planning the full end-to-end audience experience, working directly with clients on event needs from pre-event activities to post-event engagement.
- Responding to Incident, Problem and Change Requests within defined SLAs.
- Collaborating with internal and external technical support resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting the boardroom experience.
- Assisting with refining, documenting, and implementing processes and operational checklists.
- Maintaining the IT Knowledge Base and assisting members of the IT team with other duties as required.
- Providing on-call and onsite support outside of regular business hours as required including the Vancouver and Calgary offices remotely.
- Maintaining IT operational dashboards and reports and collecting meeting statistics.
- Accommodating occasional travel to McMillan offices as needed.
What You Bring
- At least 1-3 years of experience with boardroom systems and audio/video technologies
- Exceptional customer service experience with a focus on boardroom collaboration services
- Ability to remain calm and effectively problem solve in stressful situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- At least 1-3 years of experience using MS Teams, WebEx and Zoom conferencing solutions
- Proficient with vMix, OBS and Wirecast Live Streaming Software, programming Stream Deck short cuts, NDI and Dante signals and routing
- Proficient across Creative Cloud software like Premiere Pro, Lightroom and Photoshop
- Experience with MS Teams and WebEx Control Hub administration is preferred
- Familiarity with meeting booking software such as Condeco or Rendezvous is an asset
- Strong project management, presentation, organizational and time management skills
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Flexibility regarding hours of work, including being on-call, during the workweek
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience with legal applications and services is an asset
