What You Will Do
You will be responsible for co-ordination of services related to branding, wayfinding and signage design for TTC transit system facilities. The primary responsibility of the position is co-ordinating and guiding the activities of technical staff and external consultants involved in wayfinding and signage design projects and assignments to ensure the timely completion of quality work, the adequacy of designs produced by the group in terms of safety, constructability, maintainability and cost effectiveness as well as to ensure the technical accuracy and compliance with TTC Branding and Signage Standards and all relevant codes.
You will provide full co-ordination services for all printing, wayfinding and signage projects and assignments: schedule and monitor all incoming projects and assignments to ensure timely completion; prepare and keeps track of schedules which outline all projects and assignments related to wayfinding and signage design; assign incoming projects and assignments to appropriate staff (Graphic Designers, Print & Information Designers and/or other design staff as required); respond to and co-ordinates stakeholder(s) requests; update the Manager - Design and Wayfinding regularly on the overall progress and project development; and co-ordinate with other design staff as required.
You will provides design lead services for wayfinding and signage design related to transit facilities: co-ordinate the work of the Graphic Designers, Print & Information Designers and other design staff as required; act as design lead for projects and assignments related to branding, customer communications, wayfinding and signage design; co-ordinate and/or conducts site meetings, reviews of architectural plans and shop drawings, and submits reports as required; stay current with legislated and TTC safety regulations, standards, and continuing education requirements and develop and implement advertising and promotional campaigns.
You will develop and update Design Standards and Master Specifications related to branding, wayfinding and signage design: stay current with technical and design developments related to wayfinding and signage design in the industry; initiate and update Wayfinding and Signage Design in addition to standard and directive drawings, master specifications, and the Signage Manual updates. Act as design lead for projects and assignments related to wayfinding and signage design for all TTC transit facilities.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent;
Several years of related work experience in an architectural or engineering environment.
Thorough understanding of graphic design principles, methods and practices as well as excellent graphic design skills;
Knowledgeable in architectural design, specifications, construction and contracting techniques;
Fully conversant with and experienced using the current versions of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator; and experience with Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, CorelDraw and SketchUP would be an asset;
Sound judgment; and well-developed analytical, problem solving, and verbal communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives;
Ability to create and motivate team spirit; and organize, manage and work on numerous projects concurrently;
Demonstrated ability to research and prepare detailed presentations, and to communicate intent to varied groups;
Excellent organizational skills to logically maintain effective records of design and communication;
Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
