About The Role
Provides comprehensive services to students, faculty, staff and external client of the audio-visual and computing equipment and facilities provided by IT Services at Vancouver Campus. Resolves minor software and IT Services equipment problems. The work includes evenings and weekend shifts, and the incumbent may be called upon on short notice to cover vacant shifts. Performs other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job discription and classification on request.
Qualifications
High school graduation and general courses or training of moderate duration (one semester or equivalent) in computing and audio-visual technology. 6 months of related experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
- Good knowledge of computers, operating systems and servers.
- Ability to operate and perform basic setup of Audio-Visual and computing equipment.
- Ability to resolve minor software problems.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on Audio-Visual and Computing equipment.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools e.g. screwdrivers, pliers etc.
- Ability to lift up to 25kg.

The assignment start/end dates are: January 3, 2025 to April 26, 2025.
Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Spring 2025 class schedule with their application. This is a part-time position working up to 60, variable hours biweekly. There are up to 4 positions available.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
