About The Team
We conduct hundreds of live auctions each year around the world. It takes a hardworking team of energetic people in a wide variety of full-time and part-time roles to conduct a successful multi-million dollar auction – from equipment inspectors, yard managers and operators to administrative staff and customer service representatives.
Job DescriptionThe Equipment Inspectors are part of our Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) team. They are responsible to perform accurate and thorough visual inspections (eg. wear points, damage, hour meter readings, etc) and functional testing (eg. basic operations) on heavy equipment ResponsibilitiesResponsible to gather and verify equipment inventory information (eg. contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, etc.)Charged with Identifying and recording equipment components, accessories, and asset detailsAccountable for verifying equipment descriptions, based on our Equipment Standards ManualEnsure the quality of equipment data and other related informationResponsible for verifying requirements for warranty applicable itemsLiable for composing and taking photos of the equipmentProvide assistance, as required, to the DEI TeamAssist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periodsPromote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is top priority for allActively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers, and customersPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Fluency in French and/or EnglishPrior experience in equipment management (inspections, inventory and appraisals) and/or inventory control management, preferably in the auction or heavy equipment businessKnowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailersProficiency using computers, MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel) and digital camerasTop-notch written and verbal communication skills (you will be using a 2-way radio and a desk phone)Good penmanship – we need to be able to read your writing and printing easilyExcellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracyExperience working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. You thrive working as part of a team, and pitch-in wherever neededStrong time management skills: the ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work are essentialA strong customer service orientation
