What You’ll Do:
As the Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for owning the full accounts payable cycle. This is an entry-level position and is ideal for those who would like to experience a fast-paced, retail environment.
What You’re Responsible For:
- Data entry and database management;
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of invoices and documents to comply with all applicable requirements;
- Code and enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding and matching;
- Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries and discrepancies;
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Process staff and travel expense reports and check for accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses before processing;
- Process corporate credit card expenses and reconciliations;
- Process cheque runs and set up on-line payment batches for the accounting team;
- Assist with Monthly Sales and Inventory reports for financial reporting;
- Process & reconcile corporate credit card statements and associated expense reports
- Record day to day financial transactions using NetSuite
- Process and Arrange Logistics payments on time and in accordance with company policy
- Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures;
- Take initiatives to improve processes and adapt to changes
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks;
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Extreme detail-orientation, taking full ownership of one’s responsibilities and consistently ensuring the accuracy and quality of work
- Great multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications, include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
