Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. This role is crucial in managing our financial health, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. We desire a finance leader who will value and add to the ongoing change & growth with our well-established, respected and growing construction / engineering products & services company.
Responsibilities
- Day to day operations of the company’s finance department, including managing two staffs.
- Oversee all financial operations, including account analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting.
- Prepare accurate monthly and yearly financial statements and reports for the company, its subsidiaries, and affiliates.
- Manage the company’s accounting software systems, including QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations.
- Taking the company’s HR programs that relate to finance, such as employee benefits, employee compensation programs review, and staff vehicle programs, etc..
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; A CPA, CGA or CA finance designation is required.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in accounting/finance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software ACCPAC such as QuickBooks and Sage.
- Comprehensive analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience working with external firms for tax filing and audit processes.
- Experience in the construction and / or engineering product industries is an asset, as is contract administration with project partners, suppliers and secondary manufacturing partners.

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
