The Company:
Our client is a fast-growing food manufacturer making high quality, healthy fresh and frozen products distributed across Canada, the USA and Internationally.
With major growth plans for 2025 they will be moving into a larger production facility and warehouse.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to a Sales Manager, our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Sales and Marketing Associate to provide administrative support to the sales and marketing team. As the current team is largely remote, this person will serve as key office support to the supply chain, accounting, quality assurance and operations departments within the office environment.
Additionally, this position will be tasked with managing and participating in industry and consumer Trade Shows in both the US and Canada. This position will eventually include direct sales participation whereby this person would be in the field with broker teams visiting stores and helping to build regional sales and distribution.
This role requires a standard 40-hour work week in the office when not remote at Trade shows OR visiting customers. Supports the VP of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager, and Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
New account paperwork and internal on-boarding
Processing trade and consumer samples
Liaison with national broker network to provide product information, images, sales samples, insurance and quality certificates as requested.
Responsible for processing and reconciling monthly broker commission payments
Manage internal promotional log to assure distributor and retailer compliance with plan established by sales department
Work with supply chain and accounting department to dispute unauthorized distributor and retailer deductions and work within their portal systems to retrieve payment
Depositing customer payments
Communication with brokers and distributors for PO revisions when received out of compliance (quantities, pricing, lead-time, etc.) Chain of communication includes Supply Chain/ Brokers/ Freight Carriers/ Warehouses
Monitor and respond to consumer inquiries and feedback sent via our “Eatwell” website. When needed, link with sales, marketing, quality assurance to assure the consumers’ inquiry is thoroughly and accurately addressed and inquiry is resolved.
Respond to social media inquiries and forward to the appropriate contacts
In conjunction with broker reps or independently, this position will visit retailers for the purpose of: Building relationships with store personnel
Product placement audits and audits of competitive products
Presenting new item and expanding distribution of existing product
Performing instore demos, Communicating promotional opportunities
- Industry and Consumer Shows
Responsible for coordinating and executing shows to include:
Pre-Show paperwork, equipment, product need
Attendance at 5 – 7 shows annually. Shows are typically 1-2 days in duration, not including travel
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Post Secondary Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma
- 2-3 years professional experience in Sales and/or Marketing Role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Self-motivated with a passion for the food & beverage industry.
- Customer Service first attitude
