About The Role
Library assistants at the Belzberg Library help staff, faculty, students and members of the community borrow materials, book computers, connect with other library services, and enjoy our spaces. You'll spend time having conversations with library users, shelving, circulating books and other materials, and connecting with colleagues.
Ideally, as a library assistant at the Belzberg library you:
- Graduated from high school
- Have experienced and enjoy customer service
- Have a familiarity with basic computerized record keeping functions
- Are able to organize and shelve library materials
- Understand the DTES and its communities
Qualifications
High school graduation. 6 months of related experience. Or an equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

Additional Information
The assignment start/end dates are: January 6, 2025 to April 17, 2025.
Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Spring 2025 class schedule with their application. This is a part-time position working 6 to 15 hours biweekly. There are 4positions available.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
