The Library's Digitization Centre provides consultation and expertise on best practices in digitization procedures, and services include scanning and processing in preparation for deposit in a research repository or database. The Centre offers consultations on selection of file format, file-naming conventions, directory structure of complex (multi-file) content, and techniques for digitizing oversize and fragile source material. The Centre also supports the Centre for Accessible Learning by preparing course reading material for SFU students with print disability.
About The Role
Scans/digitizes printed and other physical materials, checks their quality, copies digital files and maintains records. Performs other related duties consistent with position title and classification.
The candidate should have ability to pay close attention to detail, accomplish an assigned task according to instruction independently, and cooperate with other team members and supervisor.
Qualifications
High school graduation. One year of related experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
- 40 wpm typing with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to exercise accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks
- Good organization skill
- Ability to manage files using Windows operating system
- Ability to exercise mature judgment

The assignment start/end dates are: January 2, 2025 to April 11, 2025.
Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Spring 2025 class schedule with their application. This is a part-time position working 24 hours biweekly. There are up to 5 positions available.
