About the Role:
DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants welcomes candidates that are interested in a student position with our US Tax Group starting for our Vancouver office. On the job training will be provided.
Our US Tax team is a group of industry insiders who excel in their ability to stay ahead of the curve on new tax rates, credits, and compliance regulations. First and foremost, our people are trusted advisors deeply integrated within our clients’ teams, but close second, they’re leading strategists and out-of-the-box thinkers who are constantly finding creative ways to solve problems and help our clients achieve their goals.
How you’ll make a difference:
- Work individually on the preparation of working paper files, US tax returns and various other accounting assignments;
- Communicate directly with clients and third parties to obtain necessary information for task completion;
- Compilation of personal and corporate tax returns.
Who you are:
- Working towards a CPA designation
- Prior public practice and US tax experience considered an asset

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a positive rapport and convey concepts and services with clients;
- Detail oriented individual with superior organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to manage time and adhere to strict deadlines;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office with the ability to quickly grasp new technological tools.
- Exposure to Caseware, TaxPrep, Simply Accounting and/or QuickBooks software as asset.
The candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment under significant time constraints.
