POSITION SUMMARY:
The web developer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all CSE web properties over a four-month period including membership renewal, corporate partners activation, lacrosse, Aquilini businesses, and Rogers Arena. They will lead development for any potential post-season requirements by liaising with marketing, brand, corporate Partnerships and other internal teams. They will also act as lead liaison between CSE and NHL/BAMTECH on all digital fronts, participating in calls and managing all rules & regulations and implementation of new features.
Working internally, the Lead Developer will act as the cross-departmental contact point for multiple departments including Community, Public Relations, Content, CP, Fan & Event Services, and Social. The incumbent isn't simply a developer, they think and breathe user experience and are constantly scouring the internet for ideas, new technology, and ways to improve the connection between the team, corporate partners, and the fan. This is a fixed-term contract for approximately 4 months, starting in December 2024.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall management of web strategy, campaign integration, and stakeholder management
Manage and develop Jr. Developer staff
Build and update microsites, web pages, and articles on NHL CMS
Liaise with league partners on all digital updates and regulations
Develop and maintain WordPress and Node.js sites across multiple business units
Manage projects, develop scope documents, project goals and requirements, and provide input towards practical solutions, ideas, and time estimation
Assist in implementation of web-based tools to better understand our fans' web interactions
Assist with digital reporting by creating customer-facing data visualization and dashboards
YOU MUST HAVE:
At least two years of development experience
Degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline
Source control management using Git
Experience with web frameworks including React, Next.js (JavaScript)
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience deploying static sites and web apps to various platforms
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze current problems and implement solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to work under pressure while juggling multiple tasks
Acute attention to detail
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:
Experience using WordPress and other CMS platforms including headless CMS'
Database design, management, and coding (both SQL and NoSQL)
Experience with UI or UX design or development
Knowledge of integrating 3rd-party platforms via API's, SDK's, etc.
Server management including VPS or virtualization using Docker, and an in-depth understanding of the Linux operating system
