Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner.
- Delivering excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Operate a cash register and perform related tasks, including cash handling, credit card processing and opening and closing of the register when on the first or last shift of the day; prepare bank deposits.
- Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to merchandise, sales, promotions and store policy.
- Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management and participate in the designing of displays in windows and on tables.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts.
- Alerts the management of potential security issues.
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Flexible work hours and times.
Requirements:
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Familiarity with inventory procedures.
- Hands-on experience with POS transactions.
- Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role.
- Able to give clear directions and set expectations for staff.
- Capacity to train and develop team members.
- Ability to properly assess a situation quickly while keeping a professional and calm demeanor.
- Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Experience in Retail stores is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.50 per hour
