Canlan is currently looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to work for our Central Office.
Rate of pay: $65,000 - $68,000
Please note: This is an 18-month contract role
Job Summary
The payroll and benefits administrator of Canlan Sports performs duties within the human resources department and provides payroll services and support to an assigned client base. This position requires individuals to monitor attendance reports and ensure necessary data is collected from employees, such as social insurance number, job title and citizenship status. Payroll and benefit administrators also impart information regarding benefit plans and worker's compensation. Additional duties may involve directing employees to manuals, booklets, forms, provider information, and any other relevant information regarding benefits.
The payroll and benefits administrator helps process leave requests from employees, terminations, changes in status, ensuring at all times compliance with all company policies and are at minimum meeting Employment Standards or Collective Agreement obligations.
The payroll and benefits administrator is responsible for the integrity of HRIS data for assigned clients, run ad-hoc reporting for the business and identify trends for their client groups. They will need to meet regular deadlines and handle special projects as needed.

- All aspects of payroll, benefits and WCB operations processed accurately and on time

- All legislative and company reconciliations and payments processed within required timeframes

- This individual will build strategic relationships with others to advance the success of their complex and the Canlan Sports organization as a whole.

Qualifications and Education
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certified
- Payroll (ADP experience preferred) / detail oriented administrative experience.
- Solid understanding of the legal differences with respect to payroll and benefits in the various jurisdictions in which we do business.
Abilities, Attributes And Experience
- 2 – 5 years previous experience in similar areas of responsibility
- Customer service orientation and strong organizational skills.
- Good with detail.
- Computer knowledge: Microsoft word, Excel, HRIS/Payroll systems , Taleo (including ADP WFN, ADP RUN, ADP PCPW and Reportsmith)
- Post secondary education in Human Resources &/ or Payroll and Benefits administration preferred
