The Showroom Host will be responsible for providing homeowners with excellent customer service and a memorable experience during their Design Studio browsing appointment. This includes greeting homeowners, leading a tour throughout our Design Studio, and being available to answer any questions they may have about the products/services offered by Great Gulf. Most importantly, offering professional advice regarding colour, style and material selections.
This role is Part time- Saturdays and Sundays 9:30-3:30
Showroom Host Duties
- Provide detailed showroom tour to first-time visitors
- Explain the different levels of options available to purchasers based on their respective communities
- Assist purchasers with the interior selections, offer advice and guidance
- Assist purchaser with their inquiries, direct them to Full-Time Design Studio staff if required
- Clean & sanitize samples after purchaser use, return samples to designating areas
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the showroom
RECEPTION DUTIES
- Greet homeowners upon their arrival to the Design Studio
- Answer incoming calls, record and distribute messages for Design Studio Staff if required
- Access Dynamic Builder Software to provide the appropriate price list to purchasers and floor plans if needed
- May be asked to assist with calling homeowners that have upcoming appointments to book scheduled browsing time
- Maintain “Browsing” calendar, ensure each time slot is booked
- Email homeowners confirmation of browsing time
PLEASE NOTE: During Browsing Hours, the team will work together taking turns at Reception and assisting clients in the showroom
Communication/Influencing Others
This role will have frequent communication with homeowners and other Design Studio staff members
Education And Experience
- Minimum 1 + years in customer service role
- Interior Design or Interior Decorating diploma (or currently enrolled in Design Program) is a strong asset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly organized
- Team oriented and supportive to Team Lead and fellow coworkers
- Experience in the hospitality and/or restaurant industry is a strong asset
- Ability to read & understand floor plans is an asset
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
This position will require the successful candidate to work 100% from our Design Studio in Etobicoke. They may be seated and/or standing for periods of time while attending to the reception desk or providing tours
Physical Requirements
- Colour selection process requires constant standing and guiding clients throughout the showroom
- Medium to heavy lifting and carrying samples is required
- Mid-high paced environment
