Job Summary: The Taiwan Tourism Information Center (TTIC) in Richmond, BC, Canada is seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting Taiwan as a premier travel destination by managing daily operations, building relationships with the local travel trade, and providing exceptional service to all inquiries regarding Taiwan travel products.
Contract Duration: This is a contract position that runs until at least September 2025, with high possibility of renewal for 1+ years and/or career growth within Purple Media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Operations: Oversee the successful operation of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment.
- Client Support: Field incoming calls, emails, and in-person requests from the general public, travel trade, and media about Taiwan. Ensure all inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Travel Trade Engagement: Proactively contact and build relationships with Canadian travel trade professionals, assisting them in listing and promoting Taiwan travel products.
- Data Collection: Collect and analyze data on outbound travel from Canada, including travel to competing destinations and advertising effectiveness, as guided by Purple Media.
- Administrative Support: Assist the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) and Purple Media with any related project tasks and errands, including attending travel exhibitions or important meetings as required.
- Walk-In Appointments: Arrange walk-in appointments or designated open days for visitors to collect printed information and promotional gifts.
- Attend Off-site Meetings/Events/Exhibitions: On an as needed basis, the staff member may need to participate in offsite events/exhibitions etc., representing Taiwan Tourism Administration.
- Additional Support & Ad-Hoc Tasks: Support Taiwan Tourism Administration and Purple Media with any other ad-hoc tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
- Legal right to work in Canada (Please note: visa sponsorship is not included)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with travel trade professionals.
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with Taiwanese culture and tourism is an asset.
- Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
