A little taste of your day-to-day
FINANCIAL RETURNS
· Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability
· Responsible for the Tour & Travel market segment that represents 7% of the overall market mix at the hotel – responding to inquiries by phone, email, or fax, coordinating confirmed bookings, establishing rapport with existing clients, and prospecting new accounts, etc.
· Administrative support to Sales Managers, Catering Manager and Director of Sales including but not limited to preparing proposals, contracts, BEOs, rate agreements, and reports
· Leading the social media marketing campaign for the hotel and in-house restaurant
· Preparation of monthly reports and monthly data input into Delphi system
· Coordinate marketing initiatives with the Director of Sales
· Assist in the planning and execution of sales and marketing collaterals for the hotel
· Maintaining all filing systems for the Sales Department
· Perform other duties as assigned
PEOPLE
· Assist Sales Managers with follow ups for rooming lists and client call backs
· Engage with existing and potential clients at client events
· Work with other department managers to ensure proper communication and execution of specific initiatives
GUEST EXPERIENCE
· Assist in Familiarization Tours, client events, preparation for Sales trips as required
· Provide clients with information related to the brand and hotel (loyalty program, restaurants, area attractions, facility information, etc) to enhance the guest experience
· Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales and catering/banquet services
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
· Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community by participating in networking events
· Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions
This position also includes supporting the administrative requirements of the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager. These are to include, but not limited to: typing, filing, faxing, preparing reports, etc.
What we need from you
· Full proficiency in all office procedures and clerical duties
· Computer experience at intermediate to advanced level with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Wordpress, Photoshop, Canva
· Previous Sales experience in a hotel environment an asset
· Must be a strong team player, professional and enthusiastic with excellent organizational skills, creativity and be a self starter
· Must have outstanding people skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proven ability to multitask and react positively in a demanding and stressful environment
· Proven ability to independently prioritize job tasks and guest needs
· Must be fluent in English
· Candidates must have Canadian work Authorization
