POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant at ET Transport is a vital member of our organization, serving as a cornerstone for both our HR team and office administration. This role is essential in streamlining operations, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a positive workplace culture that aligns with our company values. With a balanced focus of 70% on HR functions and 30% on administrative tasks, the Human Resources Assistant not only gains a deep understanding of HR processes but also plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of daily office activities.
In this dynamic position, you will actively contribute to building a supportive environment for our employees while collaborating closely with various teams across the organization. Your efforts will help shape the employee experience, support strategic HR initiatives, and ensure that our administrative functions operate with efficiency and effectiveness. By taking on this multifaceted role, you will be instrumental in driving ET Transport’s mission to deliver exceptional logistics solutions while nurturing a thriving workplace atmosphere.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources (70%)
- Collaborate with the HR Team and hiring managers on full-cycle recruitment, including initial intake meetings, job postings, resume screening, conducting phone interviews, background checks, and drafting offer letters.
- Assist in new hire onboarding and orientation by delivering onboarding correspondence, collecting documentation, and facilitating orientation meetings.
- Coordinate employee benefit programs, including group health benefits, employee engagement activities, recognition awards, and year-end events like milestone and holiday parties.
- Contribute to health and safety initiatives and programs.
- Address general staff inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Perform HR administrative tasks, such as drafting employment letters, organizing electronic HR files, and maintaining hardcopy employee documentation.
- Research and propose best practices for new and existing HR programs.
- Provide support to the HR team on ad-hoc projects.
Office Administration (30%)
- Assist in managing office supplies and inventory to ensure a well-equipped work environment.
- Coordinate office activities and logistics, including meetings, travel arrangements, and company events.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure accurate record-keeping for both HR and office documents.
- Support general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, managing email correspondence, and greeting visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- General knowledge of HR theories, best practices, legislation, and resources.
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in a customer service role; previous HR experience is a plus.
- Experience in an office environment is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
- Highly organized with the capability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
