The Associate, Public Markets in Investment Operations will be primarily responsible for the ongoing operations and administration of the Public Markets portfolio. The Associate’s primary responsibility will be the end-to-end lifecycle of public market investments (Fixed Income, Equity), and ongoing support of these investments. The associate will also be responsible for collaborating with Investment and other internal stakeholders to meet the needs of the portfolio.
- Support investment accounting, operational support, and valuation services within Investment Finance for public market and derivative investments (Fixed Income, Equity, TRS, OTC assets).
- Provide excellent knowledge and support for the end-to-end lifecycle of public market instruments including trade processing, settlement, interest settlements, corporate actions, pricing, etc.
- Oversee daily pool activity and pricing validation.
- Provide oversight and review on month-end/quarter-end accounting close processes and offer support when necessary to resolve ad-hoc issues.
- Support strategic initiatives including system implementation, internalization of trading strategies, requirements gathering, system configuration, data migration, and testing/validation.
- Review and disseminate routine and ad-hoc requests completed by group members.
- Partner with various stakeholders (e.g., Performance, Data, Front Office) to ensure timely and quality reporting.
- Support and monitor client deliverables ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Support internal and external stakeholder relationships, including new client setup and transitions.
- Improve existing processes, reporting, and accounting functions.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a culture of innovation, learning, and trust.
- Ensure a high level of customer/client service across all functions, including timely and accurate query response, delivery of critical information, data management, inquiry support, and initiative completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in investment management (public market) in Investment Administration or Investment Operations.
- Fund Accounting/Administration expertise.
- Experience with Public Market Investments and Public Market Valuations.
- Proficiency in NAV Calculations/Record Keeping.
- Experience with internal/external reporting deliverables.
- Strong process improvement skills.
- Knowledge of investment types such as Public Equity, Funds, Infrastructure, Private.
- Strong Excel skills including Macros, VBA, VLOOKUPs, and Pivots.
- Experience with Bloomberg.
- Professional designations (CPA, CFA, CAIA) or close to completion.
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Very detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills, with experience dealing directly with clients and external teams.
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
This is a hybrid position in Toronto,ON.
